Latest Honor For RHS Track Star
 Emily Lipari has won many honors and many championships in her legendary track and field career at Roslyn High School.
Now Emily is a media celebrity. This fall, she graces the cover of the October issue of ESPN’s Rise magazine, which features the top high school athletes in the United States.
Emily has been the New York State cross country champion for the last two years, and has finished 6th and 11th in the last two Foot Locker national championships.
The article talks about her high expectations for herself in the upcoming season. “This summer is probably the hardest I’ve ever trained,” she is quoted as saying. Emily’s Roslyn High School coach Vera Trenchfield is also quoted in the article.

When Jorge Torres spoke with Greg Fedysiki, his junior high coach, friend and mentor, for the final time soon after Torres' wedding in July, their interaction was much as it had been for the past 17 years.
As was his playful habit, Torres pulled Fedysiki's hair, then ran out the door while "Fed" chased him, both laughing all the way.
"Jorge, when are you going to grow up?" Fedysiki yelled out as Torres disappeared out the door of the Boulder Canyon home, owned by Torres' parents, where Fedysiki was staying before driving back to Illinois with Torres' mother.
This was the kind of friendship the two had ever since Fedysiki began coaching Torres as a 12-year-old at McArthur Junior High School in Prospect Heights, Ill.
