  • Bei outkicks Siraki for the W

    The girls race was dominated by a pack of runners from teh West region, with Anita Siraki of Glendale, CA taking the lead at the halfway point. Sara Bei, a senior from Santa Rosa, CA started at the back of the pack, going from last at the mile to join Siraki in the lead pack. They went head-to-head until Bei pushed into first just before the finish line. Bei won with a course record 16:55.

    Ritzenhein repeats

    This was a highly anticipated race that featured defending champion Dathan Ritzenhein, South Regional champion Alan Webb, and standout Ryan Hall from the West Regional. Ritzenhein went from last to first just after the mile mark and started to push the pace. His meet record of 14:35 gave him a gap of 20 seconds over second place Webb. He negative splitted the race with splits of 4:47-9:20-14:05.
